Research suggests that the first 5-10 minutes after you get home are the most important to determine how the rest of your evening will go. Today, after you get home, simply ask your spouse about their day. It tells them that they are important, that you care about their day, as well as sets the ground for healthy communication habits. Be sure this is done within the first 10 minutes or so after you get home. Let your spouse talk, if they are not very talkative you can ask them specific things about something you know to be going on in their world, or ask them to share a ‘high’ and a ‘low’ for the day. Then sit back and watch to see how much easier it is to 'connect' with your partner for the rest of the night.
